Double Benefits at the Dallas DoubleTree With five outlets located on two levels, and a highly popular brunch program running in three of them - combined - the DoubleTree at Lincoln Center, in Dallas, TX, needed a powerful yet easy way to control its restaurant operations. It found the answer in the combination of ProHost table management and RSViP reservations software applications from Rock Systems –and then increased its effectiveness with an interface to its HSI POS system. “ProHost made a tremendous difference to the table management,” says Gary Sharpsteen, Promus' Regional Controller. “We run all hostess operations from a single podium, on one level, yet we always have an accurate picture of all five rooms’ status. It’s really easy to combine tables within one outlet for large parties, as well as combine several outlets into one operation for the brunch. And opening a check in HSI as soon as the table is assigned in ProHost has been a major advantage in check control.” How about reservations? “RSViP has really helped us maximize reservations control across all outlets. Combining it with ProHost allows us to match party size to the available tables, so we’re also filling the space much more efficiently. Guest history is another big advantage; we track all our frequent diners in RSViP, so we’re able to recognize them quickly whenever they call for another reservation.” Any adverse guest reaction to all this technology? “Quite the opposite! Several guests have commented that they feel much more comfortable knowing we clearly have control of the process, and we’ve also had very positive feedback from providing them with pagers to let them know their table’s ready. Not that they’ve needed them as much, since wait time has dropped drastically since we introduced the systems.” And overall? “We’re seating more people, guest satisfaction is way up, and repeat business has risen to be 85% of our guests.” Satisfaction indeed.
